1 Brake Light out in Valdosta, Georgia, Cost $125.00! What the HELL? In these hard economic times..
The Valdosta Daily Times in Valdosta, Georgia published a rant that a local citizen was ticketed for having one inoperative brake light (out), and fined $125.00. The motorist believed a warning would have been sufficient for him to replace the bulb instead of a $125.00 fine.
My sympathy goes out to him during these hard economic times when families are in crises. Many local citizens are unemployed, and terminated for no good reasons under Georgia’s sick “at will to work law,” a law that treats large businesses as a god.
So don’t blame the police officers. It is Georgia elected officials who pass laws without sympathy for Georgia citizens during these hard economic times. Even though it was of no fault of Georgia Citizens. How Sad?
Therefore during these hard economic times we must band together and treat others, as we ourselves wish to be treated---by others. Some motorist saw the light out, but failed to inform the driver, and it cost him $125.00. Yes we can help each other! The $125.00 could have been better spent on utility bills, food, cloths, or keeping a family home out of foreclosure. How Sad?
I feel your pain during these hard economic times. So be encouraged, keep your sanity, maintain your upward mobility, and above all---never give up!
To Law Enforcement, why are so many motorists driving after dark without headlights in Valdosta, and Lowndes County? This seem more serious than a single brake light being out unknowing to the driver. Just keeping it real!
