Despite all the hopelessness and seemingly utter despair I don't think I have had the unfortunate experience to have read about you in the paper loosing it and you still have managed not to have gone postal on us yet...despite that great temptation we all have...all the time to contend with. I apologize for lying to you, man, about answering your questions, as the Moody Blues sang "...about hate and death and war."...in just a few hours but I am afraid I was far overstating my abilities when I implied to you I could do that.

But until we can all figure out the answer to those questions if you don't already have a woman you are in love with and doing everything in your power to destroy her capacity to love you by trying to share your pain with her while she is doing everything with in her power to make it go away forever here is a suggestion for you to try, that has never worked for me, but only because I have tried other opening lines that are as equally frightening in how well they work, if for no other reason, than because of the stark honesty and courage they require for a man to actually think of even attempting on a woman...much less to actually use one.

Go to a bar where nice women hang out in...and don't ask me where those are because I don't have a clue anymore...at my age I am suppose to be a total failure and have lots of money instead of being a total success...and hardly having a toilet to piss in...which is highly unattractive to those "liberated types" who are successful at making money but don't want to support a man who is successful at not. At any rate, dude, I know you are younger than me so you might still be able to find an innocent bird who, despite all the teachings to the contrary, still isn't certain that all men are rapists either.

Of course you know you are going to have to be in the usual standard of intoxication that a man needs to be in to get courage from a bottle but only that intoxicated to do what I want you to do next. Look around for the one who has the richest soul and try either of these two opening lines I am going to give you and which, if neither of them works, come back and we will try something different.

FIRST LINE:
"I just got back from the war and so help me God I am loosing my mind I feel so alone and lost. Are you the one I want to talk to?"

OTHER OPENING LINE...THAT ANY COWARD COULD USE:
Tell her you have a friend in the bar who will give you $100 if you can introduce her to him...but you aren't going to introduce her to him if she isn't interested because he is too nice a guy to embarrass because she isn't the one he is looking for. Tell her he just got back from the war...that he feels utterly alone and lost... Tell her everything you want about him because some times it is easier to talk in the third person about someone...even if it is about yourself. If she falls for the guy's life story...tell her she must be the one...you came there to meet.

If you are gay and have never been asked while you were in the service and didn't tell...call every tavern in town to ask if it is a gay bar and when you find one that is go there and tell everyone...you are gay.

Hey, give me a break already. Allen bummed at least 3 cigarettes from me while I talked with him after a poetry reading of his once...and if that doesn't mean we can ALL call him a friend of ours I don't know what the fuck does! OMFG, I just wish I hadn't had such a pounding hangover of a headache while I was talking to him and trying at the same time to drain his heart like a vampire...of every bit of love I could.
