The main emphasis is on the fact that the Roman Church has never given up the mind-set of the inquisition. The inquisition started with the crusade against the Albingenses, Bible-believing Christians in southern France. It targeted the Knights Templar, the Valdois and other Christian groups that upheld the belief in the human spirit that the Roman Church has denied since the Council decree of 869, which introduced the dogma that a human being has only body and soul. The belief in body, soul and spirit (so-called trichotomy) is regarded as "dangerous", according to the German dictionary "Herders Lexikon der Theologie".
