queer rights legislation 101

I appreciate that Ann & Andy provide the historical context for the legislative battles being waged today. It's easy sometimes to forget the long struggles of the past and to think that certain initiatives have materialized in a political vacuum. It's good to remember the likes of Bella Abzug who introduced the first federal gay rights bill in 1974. They are also good at explaining the complex and sometimes arcane legislative processes and politicking that are required to move bills through the two chambers and the white house, or through state or local political bodies. Thanks for the intelligent reporting that neither talks down nor takes itself too seriously. Entertaining and informative.
