Homosexuals and Heterosexuals

How to resolve the problems between homosexuals and heterosexuals

Professed “gays and lesbians” seem to feel that the only way to get acceptance is by promoting their behavior as normal and this is very offensive to heterosexuals, who feel that homosexual behavior is abnormal. Would you not agree this is the basic cause of the problems between the two?

Both sides appear to take every opportunity to promote their point of view in any public forum. By espousing their positions, most of the time with emotion, conflict follows. From the conflict comes hate, and from hate, more division develops.

The solution is simple. Remember, everyone has equal rights under the law, and all should be enjoying simple freedoms to chose his own lifestyle, and behave accordingly, as long as it is not a threat to the freedoms of others.

One problem that I see is the government’s involvement in social issues. It appears that both sides want the government to intervene on its behalf and pass laws to regulate and dictate behavior morality. The moment government gets involved in any business; social issue, or activity, freedoms diminish. The idea that a couple must have the permission of the government to get married and buy a license is, in itself, a restriction of freedom, and it seems that one of the major issues that divide us is the restriction, or the acceptance of “gay marriage.” If you removed government from the equation, and remove all civil regulations, including civil ceremonies, there may not be a problem, as the issue would not exist.

No one has the right to tell people what they should believe or accept. Homosexuals and heterosexuals alike should keep their views private and not attempt to convince the other that they are right in their beliefs. Remember, “A person convinced against his will, is of the same opinion still.”

Remove most of the laws, and eliminate most government agencies, and the issues that divide people would be less, but this is not the intent of the power-hungry elitist controlling governments. In order to have absolute power over the people, the establishment must keep us divided, whether by social issues, monetary policies, or war, the “elitist,” and only maintain power by keep people divided and dependent on the government.
