Biography of Celebrity Actress Brooke Shields
Brooke Christa Camille Shields was born on May 31, 1965 to Francis Alexander Shields and Teri Shields. The Shields were a well-known American society family in New York that had direct links to Italian nobility. Her middle name Cammile was the name she adopted for her confirmation when she was 10 years old. Her parent's separated and got divorced when Brooke Shields was still very young. Diana Lippert Auchincloss, an actress and was the ex-wife of Gore Vidal's half-brother who was also Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis step-brother, Thomas Gore Auchincloss, who now was married to her father, making her Brooke's new stepmother.

In the 60's, Brooke Shields' career began as a child model, a very successful modeling career that spanned through the 70's all the way to the 80's and she was just only 14 years of age when the 80's kicked in she had already been on Vogue Magazine. Brooke Shields was the youngest model ever to grace the top fashion publication's cover. She later then appeared on Calvin Klien Jeans controversial TV and print ad campaign which had her saying the famous controversial tagline - "Do you wanna know what comes between me and my Calvins? Nothing."

On February 9, 1981 on the Time Magazine cover story, it was reported that her day rate to be $10,000 then in 1983, all in one year, Brooke Shields appeared on several international Covers for Vogue Spain, Paris and 2 for the American Issues.

As her name and reputation at the time was now synonymous with controversy. Her 1978 first ever film role was about a kid who lived at a brothel, when the film was released Brooke Shields was just 12 and could have just possibly have been only 11 years old at the time it was shot, questions and issues of child pornography were raised along side her film-debut "Pretty Baby".

Brooke Shields is still best known for the films "Blue Lagoon" in 1980 and "Endless Love" the following year, in 1981. Although, controversy wasn't far behind Brooke, people loved her, a new decade was just beginning and she was fast becoming that generation's voice and poster child. From 1981-84, in the category of "Favorite Young Performer”, Brooke Shields, for four years in a row received the People's Choice Award.

Brooke Shields put her career on hold from 1983-1987, while she studied and attended college at Princeton University, she graduated with a degree in French literature and did her thesis on herself, basically recounting and speaking openly about her sexuality and virginity. Her thesis was entitled - " The Initiation- From Innocence to Experience- Pre-Adolescent/Adolescent Journey in the Films of Louis Malle, Pretty Baby and Lacombe Lucien."

At the time Brooke Shields wanted to make a "comeback", back to acting and making films. Brooke Shields often got shot down and refused because of how tall she is (6'0"), citing that at her height , roles on which she could play opposite shorter actors would be close to impossible. "Suddenly Susan", a sitcom that stars Brooke Shields which aired on NBC from 1996-2000, was well received which subsequently lead her to two nominations from the Golden Globes and earning her in 1997 a Peoples Choice Award in the Category of Favorite Female Performer in a Television Series.

Brooke Shields has also appeared on-stage in many music revivals productions; these included Chicago on Broadway, Grease, Cabaret, Wonderful Town and Cabaret.
