Issues to discuss
Okay people......I don't know exactly how many individuals are currently campaigning for the 2008 presidency, but there are quite a few!
In an effort to get an idea of what the most important issues are to the American voting public I would like to invite you, the participants of the fstv community groups to assist me in drawing up a list of what campaign issues are most important to you when considering a candidate for president.
Why you may ask? Well, simply put, someone asked me the other day what I would do if I were president, what I would tell people my intentions were in addressing the many different/complicated issues that confront our government and our country. As we talked I wondered how many others across this country shared common causes related to how they prioritize the many issues brought up during presidential campaigns and how they would really like their president & representatives to address these issues. After all, mostly the current administration would have the average American believe that most issues are just too complicated for them to comprehend/address.....however, I happen to believe that we, the average American Joe/Jane are in reality a lot smarter than we are given credit for...and in reality the issues are only complicated by the current administration in order to keep us out of it!
(just my own 2 cents) Anyway.........
I am asking for your assistance & participation in creating a list of these issues. You can submit one, or many...what ever is of importance and interest to you, your family & friends, your community, whatever.
Along with each issue please briefly describe what if anything you would like to see done to address that particular issue.
As submissions are made, I will take each issue and address it as if I were campaigning for the 2008 presidency myself....and then request your feedback.
It is my hope that we can participate in a cooperative, respectful dialog here, an opportunity to share priorities, exchange ideas and brainstorm ways to improve our future.
Thanks in advance for your input, I am looking forward to everyone's replies to this post!

Okay....so here is the question.....
If you were in charge of creating a new constitution, bill of rights etc....what would you include? What would be the most important expectations, protections, freedoms, rights &/or privilages you would want included?

I would like to see coverage of Iranian student getting abused at UCLA, for not having a student ID on him. Simple as that. Also, I would like to know more about independant candidates that run for office, and political parties other than Democrats and Republicans.

This is what is needed most. A new party to help bring some honesty to politics. We need a party that works for the people instead of the mighty (and failing) U.S. dollar.

Ok....so this gives me a great opportunity to give an example of how the system of government we are attempting to create will be a better choice for all people, not just an elite few, and will result in true equality.
An article in the washington post this week reports that the USDA has decided to drop the word "hunger" from it's annual report about Americans access to food and replace it with the term "very low food security" instead. In the report from the USDA the statistics show that in 2005 of the households classified as having "very low food security":
98% reported that they worried that they might run out of food before they had the money to buy more.96% reported that their food did not last and they did not have money to buy more.
94% reported that they could not afford to eat balanced meals.
96% reported that they had cut the size of meals or skipped meals because they did not have enough money.
94% reported that they had not eaten less than they felt they should because they did not have enough money.
60% reported that they been hungry but did not eat because they didn't have enough money for food.
44% reported that they had lost weight because they didn't have enough money to buy food.
31% reported that an adult did not eat for a day because there wasn't enough money to buy food.
The common thread I see in each of these statistics is....NOT ENOUGH MONEY....
So what if you take money out of the equation? If money is the problem...or to be more precise...lack of money, then why not just eliminate the need for money as a way to determine access to food?
So I am going to refrain from going into a big vent on the fact that bush, and the authors of this report should all have to experience hunger first hand...then they would know exactly how to define it!!
Instead I want to focus on the fact that the society and governing body we want to create would eliminate hunger entirely!!! You read that right....ELIMINATE HUNGER ENTIRELY!
How? Well by simply giving free & equal access to healthy, natural food resource's to each individual as a matter of birth right! As long as you live you have the right to free & equal access to all food resources available.
I know what it is to be hungry and without the money necessary to buy food. This past summer my fiance and I were thrust into that very situation. We were forced to sell our personal belongings yard sale style in order to give us the money we needed to buy food, and in order to have enough food we lived on the very cheapest, non nutritional food....ramen noodles, and bread/focaccia I made with my bread maker. That is what we lived off of for 4 months. No vegetables, no meat, no healthy nutritious food of any kind.....we were able to buy milk once and could have pudding too for a couple of weeks...I had a bunch of boxes from before hard times hit that we used up. We were also able to buy dried peas and make pea soup once. The inability of people to access vital food resources is an issue I take very personal because of my own experience. There is no excuse for anyone in the united states to be hungry. We are supposed to be one of the wealthiest, most powerful, most advanced nations in the world...yet we will not feed all of our people?? This is unacceptable to me!!
We envision a system where food resources are freely made accessible to all. We believe this one change in the social & governing dynamic would have a radical and uniquely positive effect on the society as a whole. Americans are a wasteful people. We throw food away everyday...perfectly good food is thrown away. We send food to other countries...while our own people go hungry. Children go hungry...and it has been proven that those children suffer in many other ways as a result of this. Instead of fixing the root problem....the current government puts a band aid on it by giving money to schools to provide breakfast programs and low income school lunches.....why not just let the families keep more of the money they earn so they can feed their children and themselves? Because that would not suit the purposes of the current government...the goal of which is to keep the people existing in slave like conditions, where they have no self confidence and no way to improve their standard of living, always dependent on the government for assistance.
But this is not the most effective way to govern a society of people. We believe that if given free and equal access to healthy, natural food resources, people will thrive and in turn will want to contribute back to their society in order to secure this access for themselves and for their society. When people, especially children have access to health, natural food resources they are much more likely to become healthy adults in their society....and if their health is better in quality then they will have more energy, more resilience to sickness and disease and a better overall attitude of well being, which in turn will motivate each individual to give back to their society in order to preserve this access.
Many crimes are committed every year because of lack of money to buy food.....these crimes would disappear if the people just had access to food...a vital necessity of survival to all human beings. No vital necessity should be withheld or denied to any human any reason, not especially lack of money. How many other "socially unacceptable behavors" are a direct result of hunger and lack of (money to) access food resources?
Money is a tool, better yet a weapon, devised by some to control the rest. Money has enabled a few elite individuals to economically enslave the mass population and control them for their own (the elites) benefit. Now the current government system even used money & access to recources as a weapon/ttol to control other nations.
The bottom line fact that people are going to work every day..and still can't earn enough to gain access to the food they need is indeed a testament to why this system is a failure and needs to be abandoned. This system ignores & denies the needs of all it's people, in favor of the wants of some of it's people. Changing the terms used to describe the reality of the situation will not change it, fix it or make it go away.
We propose a system where access to healthy, natural food resources is a birth right and always free & equal with out exception. And genetically modified/engineered foods are not created outside a laboratory to mix with natural food resources until they are proven safe and necessary. It is our hope to be a role model to other nations and eventually build peaceful relationships that will allow nations to safely and freely trade food resources with each other. Creating a truly interdependent, global society. But first and foremost, we will ensure that each and every member of our own population has all they need.
A side note to this particular issue is that some believe that the bush administration stalled the release of this report until after the midterm elections because it might reflect negatively on them....well yeah I don't doubt this a bit and is another reason to consider an alternative system of government that is founded on transparency & honesty. Not deception, secrecy and manipulation.
Now it's your turn to comment on this issue.

Your system with no money sounds too much like communism, looks good on paper but doesn't work in reality. It would have to be a majority vote, and your not going to eliminate the use of all money. I "am" MAD that the government uses the farmers in the stock market, telling them not to produce too much or the price will drop per barrel. WE NEED A FOOD SURPLUS to feed AMERICANS!!! THAT'S ONE OF OUR BIGGEST PROBLEMS RIGHT THERE. Second is the ILLEGAL TAXING of our incomes.( go to www.treeofthegoldenlight.com/nesara/IRSDrunvalo.htm ) With a higher purchace tax (the rich don't want), the regular Joe will have more money. FREE MONEY IS EVIL, one learns to live on welfare and gets too addicted to doing nothing. And if you have another kid, then welfare will give you more money. "GREAT !!" I thought it was a good idea to put that 5 year plan into effect(can't find a job? then your cut off), BUT THEY WERE A DECADE TOO LATE. Now we have too many FAT BROKE people who can't work to feed thier starving children. Oh, did I say that? So now what do we do?
sincerely,

We brainstorm, we dialog, we keep communicating!
I am interested to learn more about why you believe that the use of money can not be eliminated? If you mean that it can not be eliminated from the current system then I would have to agree with you, the current system is dependent on the use of money. However, I do believe the use of money can and should be eliminated from an alternative system model.
I believe this is not only possible, I also believe that once the potential of this alternative system model is understood, there will be few who will be able to justify the current system's continued use.
Why? Because this alternative system model will solve many if not all of the current global problems, plus......it will enhance the human existence experience and will allow humans access to unlimited & unrestricted advancements in their continuing evolutionary journey.
So what do we do now? We need to identify priorities & strategies for meeting the goals necessary to achieve success in actually creating the reality of this alternative system model. We must be part of the solution and that solution requires active participation!

Ok so we hurtle towards xmas and my 11 year old daughter asks "daddy what do you want for xmas"normal answer is "my two front Teeth" but she's got wise to that.
For the first time in my life i couldnt think what I wanted! Now is that weird or what ,she normaly gets me something realy usefull that encourages me to get Fit and Healthy ! like a really "usefull" scarf for long walks...!
I guess it is either a sign of contentment or a sign I am loosing the plot and am incapable of being creative enough to come up with ideas. Guess it will be socks and scarves again. Good site- I have book marked it.

It has been suggested that we begin some discussion on this forum concerning issues... I'll start:
I was motivated to start this group because I wanted to see if there were any others like myself out on the web searching for the same.....These are my issues:
Money ~ I want a society & government that is not dependent on a system of currency in order to decide and assign value on people and things and I want a government & society that is not dependent on the economic enslavement of others. Each and every individual should have equal and fair access to the nececssary resources of healthy, natural food, clean water and sanitation, personal clothing, personal shelter, health & medical care and continuing education, no one should be denied these things for lack of accumulated currency or monetary resources. They are a right of birth.
Government ~ I want a government that is transparent & honest in it's service to the people. I want a government that does not interfere with my personal choices and decisions, but instead respects my right and authority to be responsible for my own person and actions.
Environmental Issues ~ I want us to make meaningful use of our advancement of technology and our continued search for cleaner, renewable energy resources. I want us to be mindful of our impact on the environment & planet that we ourselves are dependent on for our very existence.
International Affairs ~ I want America to rise up to it's potential as a shining and wonderful example of equality, freedom & peace for all nations to see!! I want us to invite other nations to copperate and work with us, no matter what their religious affiliation, to bring safety, security & peace to the entire global society by working together so that we may all benefit. I want us to all...lay down our weapons & put away our threats of force and begin a new trend of understanding and negotiations with each and every nation.
Immigration ~ We are all immigrants or at the very least...our ancestors were!! We must greet our international brothers and sisters with open arms, hearts and minds if we are ever to create lasting, peaceful international relations with other nations. We must treat others as we would want them to treat us.
Okay....I could go on and on but this is a start. Now it's your turn!
