In the past few years the media democracy movement in Canada has been rather subdued, quietly doing its work, educating the public on media issues, producing independent media, and questioning media policy.

We just revamped our website at COA News (http://coanews.org). In past weeks we have been working overtime make sure our system is working on all accounts, and fixing any bugs we come across. If you notice any problems please let us know (contact@coanews.org).

We also encourage general feedback.

It’s official, as of Friday April 27th 2007 The Newstandard (TNS) officially ceased operations. This is a significant loss for both the independent media ecology, and for citizens who use independent media to stay informed about current events and social issues.
