Lack of voice

I have spent some time browsing through the content of this website, and I have observed some strange patterns.
It seems many of the older members are unable or unwilling to communicate clearly. This is not a universal, however in a general sense, the Free Speech of the more aged users is mostly nonsense and self accolade. The least coherent user I have read posts from is gbrhynes007-2. Take this literary disaster for example:

“In Memory of Rev Martin Luther King Jr., and Our National Bicentinennial...(1982)”

Copyright: July 20, 1982---By George Boston Rhynes

Consider this excerpt from the first stanza: "...That have lost all trust in their fellow man From what they have heard about Watergate, The EPA, and the CIA."

Is the intention here to blame American institutions such as the EPA and the CIA for acting against the public will with full permission and public trust? Perhaps these "friends upon the American soil" are losing trust in people that do not act to check and balance the conduct of such institutions. This statement cites the EPA and CIA as if they are meant to uphold public trust, when in effect these institutions exist for the opposite reason. The presence of such institutions is indicative of the absence of public trust in "fellow man" at a time prior to their inception. Government officials are public entities; they live in the same world as everybody, and follow the same rules in reasoning social situations. Public trust is an idea, the words have no real value, they are plastic and must yield to the will of the people considering them for social relevance. This man writes of trust (and goes on to write of “racing for power…” and “…using money as their guiding light”) and does not manage to say one word. Perhaps this man is part of an old generation of cowards and fools that managed to lead our nation into the present state (that they complain about and blame others for) by virtue of their inaction for lack of courage and resolve.

From the first few lines of his poem (and I use the term loosely), I am convinced that G. B. Rhynes is confused about the state of this country (and the whole world) because there is no resolve in his writing (no voice in his language). It is not necessary for me to explain my analysis of all his posts in detail for each one is at least equally absurd and illiterate.

G.B. Rhynes is intentionally misusing the English language for the sake of thinking out loud. How about making a point? How about meaning to say something instead of this ambiguity? My advice to George is to either learn to speak or shut up ;-)

-9 points, yeah!

Is this all? I'm going for gold!

What are these points for anyway?

INDOCTRINATION

IT APPEARS THAT ALL OF THE INSTITUTIONS IN THIS COUNTRY, SERVE OTHER AGENDAS AND INTEREST, RATHER THAN THE PURPORTED
IN-DOC-TRI-NATION TAUGHT.

SEE IF YOU CAN ANSWER THESE QUESTION CORRECTLY:

1) WHAT IS A U.S. CITIZEN?
2) WHAT IS A NATIVE-BORN?
3) IS THE NATIVE-BORN AND U.S. CITIZEN
THE SAME?

HOPEFULLY YOU WILL LEARN A LESSON BEHIND THE ANSWERS...WE ARE TIRED.

what?

See if you can answer those questions correctly, because I can't.
Are you sure about this lesson behind the answers? Seems like there could be something there! really really!
Who are "we" and what are "we" tired of?

Who isn't confused about the

Who isn't confused about the state of America and the world? Anyone at all who says they aren't confused hasn't been paying attention. Let me say that another way, it would be impossible for a thinking person to understand what's happened in just the last few years.

I've been reading George's posts for going on 10 months now and I've found them to be rather insightful and intelligent. You must be mistaken. There's nothing wrong with quoting people, sometimes they say things better than we can, and it makes it much easier to get a point across.

I'm not confused :-)

I pay attention, and I don't waste my time thinking. Quoting somebody else is for those with nothing to say.
It is impossible for a "thinking person" to understand anything; Try figuring this out for yourself.
G.B. Rhynes is an example of a "thinking person" that is a generation older then I am, and his actions have lacked consequence in the interest of the greater good. This man is part of an obsolete way of living, and he is not alone. Much of the content of this website seems to be the product of thought without any real-world implication. Ask yourself what a thought does for somebody else? Think about this and write about it until your sense of pride in accomplishment is satisfied... but do the people that care to act a favor and keep your ideas to yourself if you are not going to do anything. Is this so hard to understand?

This is why we have a bad name

Do you read the things you write? Who are you to say that your thoughts and deeds are more important than anothers? How do you know we're not acting? All you seem to do is blame your parents generation for the way things are. What good does that do? I think you are more confused than the rest of us. Thoughts and ideas have been very important. Apparently sharing ideas is doing nothing. We should all just act before we think. The question you need to ask yourself is who are you paying attention to? You should try thinking, it's really fun.

Thoughts have relative

Thoughts have relative significance in retrospective assessment of consequence for the import of active consideration (or rational) of the whole world over that which is all in the head.
Thought and deed do not equate; actions are important in the present only after an intelligent consideration of consequence can valuate a net-effect worth having a reasonably expectated relation to the notions of intentional end. Thought is a biproduct of action. If you are still thinking about what to do, how is one to assume that you have done anything?

Will you tell me how you are acting? Thought has no consequence.

Nice way to avoid every

Nice way to avoid every single question I asked. I understand completely why it is you do not bother to think. I know you won't give any sort of rational reply, but I wonder how you come to the conclusions you do, and no, I won't show you the respect that you refused to show me. Have a fine evening.

now i'm lost

So you can read and you can think, good job. What do understand? Can you translate your understanding into voice and action? I do not defend myself by extending respect; Respect is mutual. Grow up and stop taking this $#@! personally.

Focus Remy92, you can do it!

So your point is???

Instead of attacking other people's writing, why don't you make your own point on the topic that matters to you? I'd appreciate that much more.

hmmm...

Perhaps you should try reading something more then once (in entirety) until you understand. There is a word you should look up: criticism. Check a thesaurus and familiarize yourself with the synonyms; Is "attack" one of them?

even more odd

What is even more strange to me is how only the submissions made by G.B. Rhynes with any content or even any semblance of mastery of the English language are not written by him. How great it is for this old man to have so much intelligence available to borrow, and so many other people with voice he can quote; If not for such opportunity G.B. Rhynes would have nothing to pretend to offer.
