Calling the FCC’s decision to relax media ownership rules “arrogant” and a “cave-in to corporate interests,” Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-N.D.) introduced a “Resolution of Disapproval” that would nullify the decision. And a new study on the 2008 presidential primaries shows that news coverage about the “horse race” dominates all other aspects of campaigning.

Concentrated Media
I only wanted to mention that the same is happening in South Korea, a concentration of media through a relaxation of laws designed to keep media interest separate. So, I'm not up on the facts, but in general, I think, the new rules will work to allow television stations to operate web news sites and purchase other sites. Again, no details from me, but I can see there are clear links on a global scale. On one hand whats wrong with tv owning newspapers and web sites? It's a competitive global world. On the other hand, the new rules/laws make it easy to concentrate media in the hands of the few. There is no coincidence that the new South Korea wants to join in financial success with the US and emulate policy. They are also looking at countries like Dubai and Singapore as financial models. I could say so much more, but leave it at that. The globalization and media conglomeration is not happening separately. This is not a local concern, it's global, and global could just be spelled corporate. What will the new global corporate world look like?
Imagine a world where we all work together!
