New film fotr anti-capitalists
Damn! This makes it all so clear --- it crystalizes what I have concluded myself after 60 years. The only problem I see with the ideas here is that the rich capitalists are not going to give up their power/property without a bloodbath. (unless we refuse to cooperate - look our military sons and daughters in the eyes and ask if they are ready to put a bullet in us - to save "Rex")

We need more movies, books, etc., that show options to the capitalistic lifestyle.
The main problem, as I see it, is the "Big Lie" that anyone can get rich. In the Reagon years the media pressed this idea on the public, and also the idea that people who weren't rich were lazy or crazy. One of the results of this is the "I've got mine and screw everyone else" attitude.
People like Ken Lay thrive in societies like this.
We need social conscience education in our country.
When I was in high school in the 1970's, people who chase the dollar were regarded as stupid and/or evil. And you could hitch-hike all over the country, stop in whatever city you wanted, and get a factory job that supported a family and a house. And that was without a college degree.
Our attitude as a country has turned 180 degrees, and it's sad.

"Capitalism and Other Kids' Stuff" - a popular new film, which argues the anti-capitalist case in simple language, and which has won much acclaim in recent months, can be viewed or downloaded at www.socialist-tv.com
The film, recently made in Hebburn, Tyneside, UK, by 4 members of The Socialist Party, is 52 minutes in duration and, beginning with a look at how we treat our children, explains in non-jargonised terms, the insanity of a system that places profit before human need. Please note, this is not some Party political broadcast - you'll not hear the word "socialism" mentioned once in the film - just a reasoned and sane look at an insane world that is very much crying out for real change, change that can only be brought about by a majority, acting in their own interests and without leaders, to bring about a system of society in which people have fee access to the benefits of civilisation.
The film has been viewed on this site since March some 18000 times, and has been screened in universities across the USA, on 2 public access TV stations in the USA and is soon being broadcast on TV in Venezuela.
