I get it....it's funny because it shows how stupid America is opposed to socialist countries where precious metal possession is encouraged, gas is cheap, public transportation is plentiful and works really well, organized labor isn't a mafia like organization and (in places like Spain) you're allowed to openly criticize royal power unless it's a cartoon

THE GROWING PENNY SHORTAGE IN LOS ANGELES COUNTY

Posted by Alex S. Gabor on Jan 11, 2008 12:57am in the Default Category category.

This post was viewed 2 times.

The Penny King is laughing all the way to the Bank of Pen domiciled in the Kingdom of Pen which has an infinite supply of money.

MONEY is only an idea in the infinite minds of eternal souls who think they are creating real wealth!

The only real wealth in this universe is truth, wisdom and freedom which equate to Peace. The Penny King says, "Banks, bankers and their politicians (lawyers) create lies, ignorance and slavery which permanently perpetuates war!

It is high time to hoard every Lincoln Penny and do away with the idea that the dollar is worth anything. Pennys are worth a dollar and dollars are worthless. That's my advice to anyone living outside the United States...dump dollars and buy Lincoln Pennies and Euros, Canadian Dollars, or any other currency except the US dollar until I give the word to flip the trade to the other side of the coin!"

George Soros, Warren Buffet and Bill Gates, are you guys paying attention yet? Hundreds of thousands of Angelino's are!

Alex S. Gabor, in response to this funny ass video about the New Bush Coins!

Does any reasonable person actually think this crap is funny? I find the ignorance level behind it sickening.

Some people really need to do their homework, and unfortunately, few do. It's too bad that people of that ilk are allowed to vote. Our founding forefathers required voters to be able to read and write so that they were making informed decisions, not ignorant ones, but liberals had that requirement lifted so that they could vote.

Halliburton is not - and never has been - in the oil, gas, or energy businesses! They provide the technologies for others to get oil out of the ground and distribute it. Halliburton has never been contracted for services by the U.S. government, particularly none of the logistics support services frequently discussed in the media today. Also, Halliburton and its subsidiaries have no employees or work in Iraq or Afghanistan.

*Sigh!*

I'd like to get a T-shirt that says something like this "If you think ANY liberal democrat (or Ron Paul) is suitable for President, please stay home on election day, BECAUSE YOU'RE TOO DAMNED IGNORANT TO VOTE!" I'd wear it openly and proudly, and I'd be more than willing to debate the issue, even though it's not polite to argue with the intellectually challenged.

Well said Baba.

Too many air-filled, left-headed, isolationist, governement-pay-me-welfare, this-is-my-world socialistic (okay, you get it) in the world like the artist that created this. I can see him in his little artist overalls in his sparsely stocked studio apartment with the fifteen foot ceiling wearing his little smock full of various hues of paint from creating (on his PETA endorsed canvas) the illustration of utopia for which he lives that we should all be a part of. Oh yeah, it's warm out today so it's global warming. Al Gore told him to do it.

Send me a T-shirt, PLEASE!

For the record, liberals, Obama is the best you've got. My money's on him.

This is one of the best vids I've ever seen. I'm still laughing. I also enjoyed reading some of the comments here. It's so true that Halliburton only provides the technology to get oil out of the ground. It's those other companies we should blame, the ones that put the oil there in the first place. Go Ron Paul!

Hey Baba and living in the real world... it is called satire. If you can reflect on the legacy of the US hegemony (thats Democrat and Republican administrations) for the past 20 years positively, then it is you who need to have a refresher course in reality. Read a bit of history and you will identify the preconditions for a waning power.

FWIW I thought the video very amusing... and I am an Australian.

Louise said: 314 days ago

Baba, I admit not knowing much about Halliburton, but when CEO, David Lesar says, "...serving our troops" and "rebuilding Iraq..." do you think he means they're telecommuting?

and for you, "Living_in_the_REAL_world" -- hope you have LOTS of money (or none at all) because Obama will gladly take your money to expand the "governement-pay-me-welfare, this-is-my-world socialistic" state that you claim to abhor.

What I love about people like Baba, Real World, and billyjoe (other than the obvious spelling errors) is their need to have it both ways. When it suits them, they describe liberals as "ignorant," but at other times, the menacing crowd become "left-wing ivory-tower intellectuals." Frankly, as an active duty Soldier, I have a pretty good idea of how Halliburton and former subsidiary KBR have served our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan; if Baba, Real World, and billyjoe need any evidence, perhaps they could stop whining about liberals and go enlist. It would certainly cut into their blogging opportunities.

Big Ass Texan said: 313 days ago

This is a clever video; however, it is not a funny one. The basis for good satire is that there needs to be some grain of truth in order for it to work. This only seems to exaggerate the Bush-hating crowd's mis-guided and ill-informed hatred of a president who, while far from perfect, is doing an outstanding job fighting the poorly-named "war on terror."

cellocat said: 313 days ago

I take it you're a Fox News watcher, RoPaul? We were safer before the war, and many, many people were still alive. Women were working in Iraq, and basic social services still existed. Of course Sadam was a dictator, but perhaps we could have supported the population in its efforts to effect change rather than instituting a "Shock and Awe" campaign that's left us shocked and many people dead years later.

jetgraphics said: 312 days ago

Crying and laughing, it's sad/funny. The producers' interpretation of propaganda is well presented, but woefully inadequate to inform and educate the audience. Facts not in evidence - the scourge of usury - the evils of socialism - the eradication of absolute ownership - the institution of "voluntary servitude" - the reprogramming of Americans into obedient sheep. Let us not forget that the "national debt" is denominated in "U.S. dollars" (gold or silver coin) and not payable with worthless paper (Federal Reserve Notes aren't dollars, but promissory notes to pay dollars on demand - repudiated in 1933). At current mining rates, it would only take 870000 years to mine enough gold to coin into lawful money... if the debt was frozen right now. What does that all mean? At some point, the holders of America's debt are going to realize that not only are the bonds worthless, but the debt service will cease because the American sheeple will have been shorn to death. What happens when the holders of 9 trillion debt find that their investment was bogus? What happens when the debtors are faced with surrendering their property pledged as collateral? What happens when trade collapses because no one will accept the "dollards" from the "dullards"? Oh, and let us not waste resources buying gold bullion. Gold is too scarce to be useful as a medium of exchange. The percapita share of above ground gold amongst 6 billion people is too small to function as money. World Gold supply = 144,092 tonnes (2003) One metric tonne = 2205 lbs. One pound = 12 troy ounces One troy ounce gold equivalent to 20 silver dollars (each containing 0.75 troy ounce silver) (15:1 silver to gold ratio)

Translates into : 3,812,674,320 troy ounces @ $20 US = $76,253,486,400 (76 Billions pursuant to Coinage Act of 1792)

Divide by 6 billion people, and it computes to $12.67 per person... a little over half an ounce. The United States Bullion Depository Fort Knox, Kentucky, gold holdings: 147.3 million ounces.

At $20 dollars per ounce of gold (Coinage Act of 1792), all that gold translates to 2.9 billion dollars. Divided by 300 million Americans, computes to $9.67 percapita share. Again, it's far too little to function as money.

No, we can never go "back to a gold standard". Anyone who espouses such an idiotic solution should be shown the facts, and required to explain himself.

When people finally wake up to the fact that the academians and politicians and lawyers have been LYING to us for generations, suitable solutions may be found. But don't believe propaganda, even when it makes you laugh out loud.

If you google "Halliburton government contracts" you can read all about Halliburton's affilialition with oil. Halliburton was given a "special" no-bid contract worth hideous amounts of money in order to rebuild the iraki oil infrastructure, which they did so well that the...well just read this excerpt from: www(DOT)halliburtonwatch(DOT)org(SLASH)about_hal(SLASH)costplus.html

"The Army awarded Halliburton a no-bid contract in March 2003 to rebuild Iraq's oil industry infrastructure. The no-bid contract created enough outrage in Congress that the Pentagon later cancelled it and opened-up the bidding process to companies other than Halliburton.

Most of Halliburton's government contracts were awarded through competitive bidding, but the no-bid Iraqi contract, and the secret way in which it was awarded to Halliburton, touched-off a firestorm of public suspicion that Dick Cheney and Halliburton are working together to increase the revenues of Halliburton. After the no-bid contract was cancelled, the company has been exposed for the repeated fraud and abuse in its government contracts. Allegations of corruption continue today."

So where are you getting your information? FOX News is no all-encompassing information machine in case you haven't figured it out yet.

This Video was truly amazing! Although one could possibly argue that a few things could be improved, the point was well made that this barbaric administration has abused it's power and cheated the american people in such shameless manner as noone could have ever imagined ten years ago. Some of their upper employees made far more and stayed in 5 star motels. My pay was MSgt over 20 with combat pay and my house a tent. Remember how Bush told us that Iraqi oil would pay for the war? BabaORileyUSA ,

You are dead wrong on Halliburton. I live in Texas and I work in the oil industry. We do work for Halliburton all of the time. When I worked for the state (Oil & Gas division of the railroad commission) I saw their paperwork on a daily basis. Not only are they in the oil business, they make a killing from it.

Before you decide to go around calling people ignorant, make sure you actually have a clue what you are talking about. I forgive you though as it is obvious that it was a knee-jerk reaction by you. This video is hilarious and very true. The Halliburton aspect was making a point but it was exaggerated a little.

Bob Halliburton said: 303 days ago

Hey Baba! "Some people really need to do their homework," and your ignorant and uninformed ass is at the head of the class. "Halliburton has never been contracted for services by the U.S. government"?? Uh-oh! More homework! Looks like you won't be making that Klan meeting with Living_in_the_real_world guy.

Drop dead before the election, please.

Halliburton: Military contracts 2005: $5.8 billion Oil and gas-related contributions in the 2004 election cycle: $221,249*

The biggest windfall in the invasion of Iraq has most certainly gone to the oil services and logistics company Halliburton . The company, which was formerly run by Vice President Dick Cheney, had revenue of over $8 billion in contracts in Iraq in 2003 alone. And while Halliburton ’s dealings in Iraq have been dogged everywhere by scandal – including now a criminal investigation into overcharging by Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg Brown and Root for gas shipped into Iraq – Vice President Cheney manages to be doing quite well from the deal. He owns $433,000 unexercised Halliburton stock options worth more than $10 million dollars.

But Halliburton ’s history of benefiting from government largesse goes back a ways. From 1962 to 1972 the Pentagon paid the company tens of millions of dollars to work in South Vietnam, where they built roads, landing strips, harbors, and military bases from the demilitarized zone to the Mekong Delta. The company was one of the main contractors hired to construct the Diego Garcia air base in the Indian Ocean, according to Pentagon military histories.

Those of you who, like me, enjoyed this said: 302 days ago

Those of you who, like me, enjoyed this creative video, please note that in his response BabaORileyUSA employs all the classic sorehead tactics with which we should all become familiar. (Garrison Keillor defined a sorehead as someone who buys a new pickup every year and complains bitterly about school taxes.) First, feign outrage and try to bully with insults - i.e, liberals are too stupid to live/speak/vote. Then focus on irrelevancies which allegedly prove the soreheads superior intellect. Baba's irrelevancies are these: "Halliburton is not - and never has been - in the oil, gas, or energy businesses!" (Yes, the company is a mega-powerful oil SERVICES business. And your point is ... ?) "Halliburton has never been contracted for services by the U.S. government ..." (There may be some technicality Baba is trying to hide behind, but this is essentially The Big Lie.) "Also, Halliburton and its subsidiaries have no employees or work in Iraq or Afghanistan." (Amazingly irrelevant, if even true, because Halliburton was the highest profile war profiteer in the region for years. If they are no longer there, it is because we finally found a way to kick them out - after they pocketed billions, no doubt.) It's important to recognize these tactics and counter them at every opportunity. Now is the time to speak out. All that matters is finding the truth and defending it.

For the Yee Hawing Liberals who rave uncontrollably about Halliburton having the ONLY no bid contract up need to close your mouths long enough to let your eyes open for some facts:

Halliburton Received No-Bid Contracts During Clinton Administration For Work In Bosnia And Kosovo. “Halliburton has also gotten some no-bid jobs in Iraq, just as it did in Bosnia and Kosovo in the 1990s, and for the same reason: Not a lot of other firms have similar expertise in supplying the U.S. military, and with a war on there’s no time to stage a lengthy bidding process.” (Max Boot, Op-Ed, “Don’t Blame Halliburton,” Los Angeles Times, 4/22/04)

During Clinton Administration, Halliburton Received $2.2 Billion From US Government For Work In Kosovo. “Between 1995 and 2000, while Democrat Bill Clinton ran the country and Republican Dick Cheney ran Halliburton, there was no talk of favoritism or political ties as the Houston-based company billed the government $2.2 billion for its work in Kosovo.” (James Rosen, “Is Iraq’s Reconstruction Rigged?” The [Raleigh] News & Observer, 10/5/03)

Halliburton and its subsidiaries aren't in Iraq? They aren't working on government contracts there?

This would be news to Halliburton. This info is on their website (press release dated Sept 14, 2006):

Despite the adversity KBR and its parent company, Halliburton, have faced regarding its military support work, there is no match for the Company’s combination of hard work, commitment and outstanding employees.

KBR has helped the U.S. Military efforts in both Republican and Democratic administrations for more than 60 years and currently is operating in a war zone where decisions are made in minutes, not months, because of the ever changing conditions.

With various media continuing to research KBR’s support to troops in Iraq through the current Logistics Civil Augmentation Program (LOGCAP) contract, KBR offers the following facts:

The LOGCAP III contract was awarded to KBR in December 2001, following an open, competitive bidding process. KBR currently has more than 50,000 employees and subcontractors in Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and Djibouti who daily face danger and hostilities to ensure that our troops have the best food, shelter and quality of life possible.

Yep, Baba O'Riley's clearly done his research and got all his facts righ.

Consider this, Both the Republicans and Democrats have nominated the most liberal choice of their party to run for president.. yes, even the republicans have nominated the most liberal republican they have, the republicans had there chance for six years, even their party wants the most left-leaning candidate.. wake up and smell the coffee assholes..

Hilarious ... unless it goes into effect next October. And don't worry BaBa... Your authoritarian republican government is doing all they can to make sure liberals can't vote- or anyone else who pays attention and is even slightly rational. I just wish all the brain dead nitwits who voted for W were the only ones who suffered the consequences of this evil administration.

outstanding. i have to agree with our aussie friend, babaoriley really does need to read up on his contemporary history, as in today. this mba president has singlehandedly created a terrorism training ground in iraq, destroyed our economy and would possibly get us into another war. this was right on the money.

REGARDING:

"I get it....it's funny because it shows how stupid America is opposed to socialist countries where precious metal possession is encouraged, gas is cheap, public transportation is plentiful and works really well, organized labor isn't a mafia like organization and (in places like Spain) you're allowed to openly criticize royal power unless it's a cartoon"

You are a complete moron and obviously know nothing about socialism or freedom of expression. My blog is not meant to defend the current executive office or to validate your pseudo informed ideas. Please do not blog any more or try to be informative. You know nothing of socialism, its challenges, or its ideals. In reading your blogs you seem to be an uniformed idealist who has never left your hometown. America has its challenges like all nations but your statement that Spain is ruled by royalists and mafia is both conflicting and false. If you have ever been there you would know that gas is not cheap although public transportation is adequate. But that costs also. It is not free.

Spain is not socialist either although current trends are moving in that direction. Spain is still struggling with the Franco Dictatorship that it experienced during WWII but they have made much progress. I think most Spaniards would find your blogs insulting.

There is much progress to be made within the US but your comments are both mislayed and uneducated.
