What are you listening to lately?
I realise this is a 'quiet' thread ;)
but its a good one nonetheless.. I dno about you folks, but my music definitely has an impact. Lately I've spent a lot of time listening to Immortal Technique, which not only angers but inspires. Manu Chao is in my play list a lot lately as well, and I know that even if you weren't aware, they use clips of it on FSTV once in awhile.. :)

Lately I've been listening a lot to Chumbawamba's new album, A Singsong and A Scrap. Its a sweet album, lots of accordion and 4 part harmonies singing old radical songs. The album seems to be a break from their usual sound and I like it alot. My favorite song is the second
song William Francis which has a beautiful and addictive melody, after hearing it twice it will be stuck in your head all day (in a good way) and the first thing you'll do when you get home from work is pop the cd in the stereo.
You can hear song snippets here.
AK Press is the label. Being a "friend of AK" I received the cd out of the blue in the mail (friends of AK receive everything AK puts out for a monthly subscription). It was a great surprise! Of course I didn't know what to expect as the only song of the band I knew was the catchy pop song they sold for a car commercial (and then donated the money they made from it to an anti-auto organization.) Well, I must say I really love this album, especially William Francis and the Clash cover "(Daddy was a) Bank Robber".
