The Biggest Obstacle.......Insanity

REPUBLIC:

A form of government in which power is explicitly vested in the people, who in turn exercise their power through elected representatives. Today, the terms REPUBLIC and DEMOCRACY are virtually interchangeable, but historically the two differed. DEMOCRACY implied direct rule by the people, all of whom were equal, whereas REPUBLIC implied a system of government in which the will of the people was mediated by representatives, who might be wiser and better educated than the average person. The above is included to help illustrate a point I am hoping to make clear in this post.

Like so many others I know & don't know...I never really paid that much attention in the history classes I had to attend in school. I really never thought that any of the information they provided would be important after I got out of school anyway. Now that I am much older & wiser I suppose there is a part of me that wishes I had paid a little more attention, however, I am also keenly aware that public schools like the ones I attended really only provide one side/perspective of histories stories, the side/perspective of the winners. History is written by the winners. And our written history proves our social/cultural insanity.
Insanity: repeating the past expecting the future to be different.
As I watched Democracy Now! this morning I was struck by the idea that we as a species seem to willing participatory hostages to the historic/social & cultural insanity forced upon us by those who have hijacked our country & many of it's people.
Offended by my assertion that you are "willing participatory hostages"? Well, hear me out.
The first point I want to make is that our current American form of government was founded not as a DEMOCRACY but as a REPUBLIC. There is a difference, a very distinct and important difference, which is why I included the text at the beginning of this post so we can understand these important fundamental differences.

If DEMOCRACY is what we truly want.....a government that reflects direct rule by the people, all of whom are EQUAL, then why are we wasting our time, efforts & energy demanding this from this REPUBLIC form of government that currently represents American interests? Is this not as insane as demanding that our Dog become a Cat or vise versa?

The current REPUBLIC form of government would have you believe that by calling, writing, emailing, protesting, petitioning & rallying that you can somehow accomplish this transformation because they have basically tried to eliminated the differences between DEMOCRACY & REPUBLIC....but the differences still exist, just because you say your dog is a cat or your cat is a dog does not in fact make it so!!! Many have and are currently campaigning for your support. They are willing to tell you whatever you want to hear in order to gain your vote at election time, but once in office they do little to accomplish the transition to a real, true & pure DEMOCRACY. Perhaps some even truly want to accomplish this achievement, but they are few and far between and they usually don't last long in this REPUBLIC form of American government.

Escaping our social/cultural insanity now requires that we begin to think logically and for ourselves. For so long the American social structure & it's members have been trained, even forced to be dependent on this REPUBLIC form of government for it's leadership, believing that they were for whatever reason wiser & better educated(nearly impossible for the average American to get an advanced & high quality education without selling their soul, compromising their principles or accepting lifelong debt in return, do you think that is deliberate?) and thus more qualified to represent our interests, both domestically & internationally. But in my maturity, my own wisdom has given me clarity of perception and I can now see the reality for what it truly represents. I can think of no one better qualified to represent my own individual/personal best interests than me, myself & I, how about you?

Does the above quoted text not reflect the current REPUBLIC for of government currently representing American interests today? Minus the property ownership I believe it does and even that is a gray area because in the last two elections many Americans were denied the ability to cast their votes. We have since found out that indeed members of this current REPUBLIC form of government perpetrated fraud in order to accomplish this. Many have provided real tangible proof of this reality.
Day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year, generation after generation we learn of the lies, deception, secrecy & fraud that defines this REPUBLIC form of government, yet we persist in allowing them to control our very existence by force & threat & fear & brainwashing (very effective tools of dominance & oppression by the way...don't you agree? It has worked for the entire existence of this REPUBLIC form of government and has worked equally well in other nations)
So then why are we even considering participating in this illusionary exercise in futility & insanity of elections again in 2008? If you invited me to your house and I stole from you, lied to you, committed fraud against you, deceived you and you or others could provide proof of this reality...would you invite me into your house again? Would you willingly participate in a relationship with me? If not then why do you persist in willingly participating in a relationship with the current REPUBLIC form of government? They have continually done exactly that and more. If current approval ratings for this REPUBLIC president are so low, the lowest ever recorded in history, then why do those that disapprove and oppose continue to support this president, this Republic form of government & the corrupt corporate & religious profiteers that enable the oppression, economic enslavement & terrorism that they represent?
Perhaps part of the reason stems from our human need for "hope". We hope that all our calling, writing, emailing, protesting, petitioning & rallying will have somehow gotten through to these people who claim to represent our interests, that they will take pity, feel remorse, adopt our moral values, or allow us independence if they refuse to provide us with what we need but our history tells us that this is insanity and we are in denial & ignorant of this reality! Like playing the lottery...we "hope" that we will win big this time and all our worries will be over, but the reality is that the odds do not support this hope, not even remotely, we just have the illusion that they do because whenever someone does win big....the mainstream media jumps all over it! We must now see our reality for what it is, we must accept that this REPUBLIC form of government is not a DEMOCRACY! Despite the fact that there are those who call themselves "democrats". They do not represent a true/pure DEMOCRACY form of government. Their bread is butters on the same side as the "republicans" is. Do not be fooled by this deliberate illusion. It was never intended to be a DEMOCRACY and it never will be a DEMOCRACY...if we want DEMOCRACY we must create it ourselves, it is the only way we will ever have it!
Now there are some definitions of DEMOCRACY that include the option that the people would/could "freely" elect representation(http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/democracy), however, lets keep in mind that this form of "representative" government is a contributing factor(along with money & greed, the latter I believe being a symptom or consequence of the original/current REPUBLIC form of government and the ability of those in the banking & finance industry to use it to further their exclusive agenda & prosperity)to the inequality, economic enslavement & oppression that we face and has been forced upon other nations as well, even as I write and you read this. So if we are to choose this form of representative government in a DEMOCRACY, we must be very careful not to repeat the insanity that is present in the current REPUBLIC form of American government. I believe one way to ensure this is to eliminate the institution of money entirely, but that is another topic altogether. I am still working on this concept and would be glad to have any input from others in this community on how to establish such a DEMOCRACY free of a monetary system of trade & commerce.
Thomas Jefferson I believe understood the fundamental flaws in the original REPUBLIC as did many of his fellow compatriots. They addressed these concerns in the anti federalist papers and ultimately Jefferson addressed this in the introduction to the Declaration of Independence where he wrote:
"When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."
Our intention should not be to over throw the current REPUBLIC form of American government, but instead to take to heart, mind and hands these important and prophetic words of Mr. Jefferson.

We must now set to work to dissolve the political bands which connect us with this REPUBLIC form of American government and assume our rightful powers of the earth, create & institute a separate & equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature's god entitle us all. It is our RIGHT, it is our RESPONSIBILITY, it is our DUTY to the future generations of our species to take this action now.

Do you believe that all humans man, woman & child are created equal & endowed with certain unalienable rights among them being life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness?
Do you believe that this current REPUBLIC form of American government has become destructive of these ends? Both domestically & internationally?
Then Mr. Jefferson makes it clear that is is the RIGHT of these people(us) to alter, abolish and institute a new/alternative form of government that lays a foundation of principles & organizing powers in such a way as to best ensure our safety & happiness.

Do you believe these reasons to be light & transient? Domestic & international human physical & psychological abuse, torture & imprisonment, illegal wire tapping, abolishing the right of habius corpus, deception, lies & secrecy, arming & supporting terrorists, bribery & the taking of bribes, unbalanced corporate lobbying & control of government actions, corrupt judicial proceedings and government officials & public servants, taxation without representation, illegal taxation, tax breaks for the wealthy & increased taxing on the working poor & virtually non existence middle class, inequality amongst those considered minority, religious favoritism, illegal & pre-emtive wars, over 600,000 innocent Iraqi civilians dead and over 3000 courageous American service members dead not to mention the thousands that are coming home physically & mentally wounded for a lifetime, their sacrifice is more than we can ever imagine, Americans that are homeless, hungry and dying without health care while corporate profits are higher than ever in recorded history, environmental & planet destruction, hospitals substandard care to those without the financial means to pay for the increasing costs & schools that provide substandard education to the public masses of our future generations, food resources compromised by toxic additives & herbicides, genetically modified seeds & antibiotics, all of which we do not know the long term use consequences of, the shifting of our jobs to foreign countries leaving our own American workers without the means to support themselves or the advanced education to compete in a an ever increasing technologically driven work force, children forced into pre-pre-school environments & day cares just so their parents can take minimum wage, manual labor jobs that don't cover their basic survival costs, increasing debt, encouraged by government & even the international peace prize, increasing threats from international leaders in response to this REPUBLIC American governments bullying & threats of force against them,more & more people experiencing more & more stress and the illnesses & diseases that result from prolonged exposure to stress & strain & more & more drugs being given to alleviate these sufferings, scientific truths & discoveries suppressed, twisted & controlled by corporate & religious interests, unbalanced, suppressed news reports,deceptive advertising & distractive television programming, privatization of public resources & services, etc, etc, etc. Does this accurately reflect "a long train of abuses and usurpations"?

It will not be easy, although it may be much simpler than you imagine & it is not without risk, the current REPUBLIC form of American government will interpret the necessary actions as a threat against their very continued existence & their future as an American and world power, and rightfully so as there is every real potential possibility that very few Americans & even fewer international communities leaders would voluntarily choose to continue to support/interact with their current REPUBLIC form of government. However, it is an important necessary next step in the social/political evolution of our country and our species if we truly want to see equality, freedom & peace in the future of our species. If we choose to continue repeating our historic insanity...we have no one to blame but ourselves for the lack of quality in our life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. Our insanity, denial & ignorance of reality are our biggest obstacles, we are our own biggest obstacle, our own worst enemy.
In closing I an issuing an invitation to all those with the courage of their convictions who will accept the RESPONSIBILITY of their individual RIGHTS & DUTY entitled to them at birth to step forward now and join us in exercising our RIGHT, our RESPONSIBILITY and our DUTY to alter, abolish & institute a new form of alternative government before it is to late to do so. We alone have the ability to improve our social structure, our government structure, our species future. The question now is do we have the will and the courage to do what it takes to make it so. To improve our own reality and that of future generations! The realities are clear and becoming ever clearer....we are endanger of giving up even the very potential opportunity to act on our own behalf and reverse the damage done by this original/current REPUBLIC form of government.
If your waiting for someone else to do it for you they won't, if your waiting for the current REPUBLIC form of government to give in & give up and transition to a true & pure DEMOCRACY they won't....there is no reason for them to give up such a profitable organization, if your waiting, then you might as well join the REPUBLIC....your already apart of it and supporting it anyway whether you want to admit it or not, the reality is you enable them to continue their reign of your existence and only you can put a stop to it.
No matter what cause you champion for, no matter what your race, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, economic status, religious/spiritual beliefs etc......if you disapprove & oppose of this REPUBLIC form of government, it's representatives & it's choice of actions then you have a RIGHT, A RESPONSIBILITY & a DUTY to respond to this invitation now. The 2008 elections will be here before we know it, the time is short and there is much work to be done in the name of our own salvation and that of our future generations.
