Replying to the first post, yes, Linux is definately the best option 99% of viruses, spyware, etc. are made for Windows. And probably, 0.9% of the remaining amount is made for Mac.
May I reccomend Mepis?

not only is there spy ware key logers ad ware and a host of self programs that install them selve on your computer there is also copy right protection built in to windows
MS acts as thought thay own your computer and not you
the best advice I can give would be to dump windows and install
Linux ( it also feels good to use a labor of love )
anyone got any other ideas
