Return The Favor With Creative Influence

Dear Bulk Mailer

I found this website a week or so ago and thought I would share it here. This is something nearly everyone can do and if enough people do it it will send an unmistakable message because the companies that send these mailers out must pay for the return postage on these envelopes. In the past people have just torn up the contents of the original mailer & returned it in the postage paid envelope, but this doesn't really cost them much in terms of postage and isn't much of a deterrent. However, when it begins costing the companies double/triple digit postage on the return of their postage paid envelopes, they will get the message and reconsider since it is all about the bottom line for them and if the costs of mailers outweighs the cost of getting them back and hits them where they live...then we will have gotten their attention.
I have already got several of my friends, both on and off line doing this...the more the merrier and more impact the message has! It doesn't have to cost you anything more than your time & some creative thinking.
For my first offer to return the favor I am sending my partners old bowling ball (16 lbs) & 6 pins (at 3.5lbs a piece). Some other ideas we have come up with include: sending recycling like all those newspapers & plastic containers (which can be filled with rocks & dirt first of course), old, broken, outdated small appliances & office equipment, be creative, but please keep it safe. The idea here is heavy, but not harmful and remember the usps doesn't take anything over 70lbs. Have fun with it and spread the word to everyone you know and everyone on your on & off line mailing lists too. You can forward the webpage via email, online group posts forums etc. Even post it on craigslist in your state/city.
Poeple are always asking me for ways that they can have an impact, make a difference, but without it costing them a fortune or being too risky...well here ya go, now have at it!
I am adding a page to our website to document the pics people send me...so make sure when/if you do this that you take pics and then go to our website & add to our forum there about it.
