Smugness Tastes Like Sour Milk
Did I not challenge his ideology strongly enough? I thought we were in agreement that he should be allowed his right to free speech. See now, you can't click on your link to find his posts and read each and every one. A few days ago you removed yet another of his posts and now him completely? I figured I'd leave it go but then I tried to post something and it never had a chance even though it was part of my own personal journal. This is exactly what I said would happen. In retrospect I should've kept up on the whole situation and never let it go cold. I won't make that mistake again.
Now in an effort to make this as clear as possible I'll post this:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
Now I know this is somehow a private site and it doesn't have to answer to the constitution, however with it's name being "free speech" it seems to me we should keep to that ideal, especially when we're told, as community members, that we have the right to speak freely on this site. We, as "liberals" are willing to give a foreign dictator a platform inwhich to speak yet we cannot seem to give the right of free speech to one of our own citizens.
The government to this day allows the KKK free speech and the right to assemble, in FACT they go out of their way to protect the members of the KKK. They give the KKK more protection, than they give us at our anti-war rallies. I'm truly sorry that I don't see the benefit in us being robots here. It's bad when those who claim to be against the government are actually worse than the government.
Incidentally, I see nothing in the 1st Ammendment, which is posted in quotes incase you weren't sure what the quoted section was, that says we must challenge "misused" speech, or even that free speech can be "misused" in the first place. In fact as far as I can tell, the only speech that isn't protected is that of personal threats against a person or group of people. Threats have happened in the past on this site, yet they somehow go unnoticed. I gather it's because those that were threatened just happened to be people like Dick Cheney, George W. Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, Condaleaza Rice, etc. While Looks and my posts are protected under the first ammendment, one of IThinkTooMuch's is not. No one raised an eyebrow to what he said, except me, simply because of the reason stated above. Either you guys wake the fuck up or you'll deserve the America you get.
I really don't know if you realize this, but we don't all have to agree. One of the best things about what our founding fathers tried to do was assure future generations that they didn't have to have the same polticial beliefs. I for one, think it's still a good idea.

Very good post remy, free speech seems to be suppressed so much now, it’s a shame the internet; once a hive for free speech is very slowly becoming censored and ‘controled’. My son attended a drug treatment center recently and a certain member of staff would not allow him to speak!? It was most bizarre and I did my best to complain. Anyway, I hope some time soon we will have a president who ensures freedom of speech for everyone, someone who returns to the very fundaments of which this countries politics are founded on.

I didn't mind you altering my post about John Mccain (I think that's the one) where you added the code. In fact I found that very helpful as I had no idea how to post videos like that. I may have overreacted to the points on my personal post. Would it matter if there were say, 6 or 7 videos in one post? It told me it was created but when I came back later it wasn't up. I don't really care about that now. The post was mostly for my own enjoyment and it had no incredibly profound message to it, only basically the same things I've been saying for quite a while.
As far as I can tell the only thing you have against him as far as the policy is concerned is as follows---3. Members will not engage in violence against other members including verbal abuse and sexual harassment.
Now, there's a technicality issue here, the whole "verbal abuse" thing. I can leave that go for now at least, because of the second part which is about sexual harrassment. He is indeed guilty of sexual harrassment. However, under Section III (TOS) it says the account will be cancelled if there is an urgent need to do so. Was there an urgent need, and if so what was it exactly? Secondly if there wasn't an urgent need was he notified 5 days before the account was cancelled? If not, why not? Did he file an appeal, and if so why was his account taken down while still in the process of appealing? Also what specifically defines an "urgent need"?
You might ask why I'm so concerned and asking these questions. It's because it does effect all of us whether we know it or not. I've enjoyed posting here for the last 9 + months and I would love to continue to do so, but if matters are not handled fairly and by the book then I'll have to say goodbye, which I do not want. I have no choice but to bow down to the user policy, as I have agreed to it when I first came here.
I do however take issue with it on some levels. Section V (Service Operation Policy) article 4 states: "Contents explicitly against the vision of Free Speech TV and its online community." I figure while I have your attention I can get you to explain this to me. If one disagrees with what FSTV wants to do (which I do not) we can't mention that we disagree and why? Or am I reading it incorrectly? Shouldn't it be more specific as to what contents are explicitly against the vision? Or are we discussing the type of content (looknlearns posts) that is against the vision? Don't get me wrong I'm not going to go crazy on this I just think it's strange. Personally I don't see how Looks posts are against the vision as it mostly calls for an awareness of issues and change.
I apologize, I didn't mean to say you're worse than the gov. It's simply not true. On a personal note I enjoy your posts and videos a great deal bart. It's nothing personal. You have to understand my position. I go out on a limb for this guy, and seemingly I get it done. He comes back spouts some misguided gibberish and lies and not only destroys the effort I gave for him but puts me in a terrible position, and really makes me look like a fool. My best hope was for him to come back afterwards and actually have something to say even if it is hateful and ridiculous not only so that my effort wouldn't have been in vain, but also for the prospect that something might be learned on all sides of this.... well I don't know what to call it really. I still don't believe he's completely to blame and that's another reason I asked the questions I did. Thanks for your time bart and take care of yourself!
missing post and other stuff

What was the title of your post that disappeared? We have a spam module that filters out some spam and it seems like it may be filtering a little too often and a bit erratically. The problem in debugging this problem is that the spam module doesn't say in the log files why specifically it decided a message was spam and deleted it. This is sort of problematic when you are trying to track these sorts of errors down.
Also Remy, I haven't felt offended about anything that you've said about the subject of looknlearn, censorship etc. Well, in truth I suppose at times I have, but I understand the things you've said stem from a strong political passion, and I respect that passion and I think it adds immensely to the community. (That may have sounded condescending I didn't mean it to, I think political passion is extremely important and sadly lacking in the US that's why the people let the President get away with all this shit.)
I'll try to write more about this later when I have more time.
but if you could send me the title of what disappeared that would be helpful. Oh and also if you are posting a comment you have to first preview the comment and then after previewing it, finally approve it again. So if its a comment, it may seem like its approved when in fact you have to do the final approval.

No Big Deal About the Post
I can't remember what I titled it. I usually just throw a few words in that little box and forget it. I know it wasn't a comment however and that it was a journal post. Either way the only reason I even did it was because I was having a long day and I needed something to get myself on track again. It was just a bunch of music that relates to current events and some comments. Nothing major.
Not condascending at all. I appreciate your comments and your willingness to look past my crude use of language. I look forward to posting here for a long time (I hope) along with all those who I have the pleasure of sharing the community with. I don't go out of my way to try and cause trouble as I'm positive you don't either and most if not all current members don't as well, yet somehow it tends to come knocking.

looknLearn was removed because he repeatedly violated the user policy. There was a point where one user challenged him and his abusive, unintelligible rants and the next post that looknlearn posted was almost, I don't know what, it still made no sense, but he was not for one post actively hating anyone. I though, shit, I failed. If only I would have had a constructive conversation with looknlearn and given him the respect he never showed me or anyone else, well then obviously we would have disagreed, but he wouldn't have lashed out so much and so hatefully. But that semi-respectful looknlearn only lasted one post. Being respectful of other people really wasn't that interesting because out of nowhere and unprovoked looknlearn posted another paranoid rant about homosexual cia moderators. And we decided enough was enough, he's violated our user policy over 7 different times. He's only here to cause "free speech fights", he's not here to join in dialogue, he's not here to listen to other people.
