Elections
Media Minutes: March 7, 2008
Submitted by Free Press on Thu, 2008-03-06 15:49.Calling the FCC’s decision to relax media ownership rules “arrogant” and a “cave-in to corporate interests,” Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-N.D.) introduced a “Resolution of Disapproval” that would nullify the decision. And a new study on the 2008 presidential primaries shows that news coverage about the “horse race” dominates all other aspects of campaigning.

Progressives, Elections, Where's the Media Justice?
Submitted by Couch Potato Re... on Wed, 2007-11-07 01:31.Tonight, Election Day, (well, technically last night now...), I went to an election party with a bunch of electorally focused progressives at Tracks, one of Denver's gay clubs. Suspicious I wouldn't fit in as an electoral skeptic, I arrived. The dancing was fun.

The Huffington Post has this nasty, handy tool called Fundrace 2008 where you can search who gave how much money to which political candidates. Find out who gives capital to the capitalist candidates! Yuck!

It's interesting to see who wants who to be president.
Submitted by pennypenn on Sat, 2007-09-08 16:52.I say beware of a candidate who is recently much more money from the oil, gambling and casino, and tobacco industries than all his opponents on both sides. That would be Rudy Giuliani. He also takes a slight lead with the securities and investment industry.

what "election"??
Submitted by poetdowns on Sat, 2007-05-19 07:52.The "election" of 2000 was a fraud, and 2004 was a fraud....these are/were not elections, it was a dog a pony show to placate the masses into believing they have some measure of control. And it's not like 2000 was the first time this happened. I believe the power structure just got so arrogant they didn't try that hard to hide it, as was done in previous presidential "elections".
