Another inmate dead in the Valdosta-Lowndes County Jail: A 20 year old American Citizen allegedly committed suicide according to Captain J.D. yeager. Jailed Inmate Joel Smith, asked to be removed from his cell and while bing moved he allgedly hit another inmate and was immediately put in solitary confinement.

There was a column in the Valdosta Daily Times on June 18, 2007 by columnist Star Parker that read, “A detached NAACP in Crisis.” The columnist started out with the announcement that the NAACP will cut its national staff by 40 percent, several regional officers will be cut, and weeks earlier the organization announced the organizations will delay plans to move from Baltimore to a fancy new headquarters in Washington.
