The Next Religion |
SearchAbout atlibertyAbout Me I wrote a book called the CAUSE which is about Spiritual Evolution, different that the the Hindu, Buddha or Yoga definitions of it. It is as if you start out as a pagan atheist and go at it from there. Nature=God but nature is not a dude or dudette....I write songs and make movies, invent electric bikes, solar collectors la di da a friend stopped by gotta go... PL&H if you know what I mean |
Debating the existence of god is unproductive:
Most often when people debate about religion the existence of God is often at the center of it. This God is usually a male omnipotent being who is accredited with creating all the universe and most important he created us in 'his' image. I've found such a debate to be on the same intellectual level of usefulness as the classic debate of "what came first the chicken or the egg?" The truth or mythical fallacy of such a God is inconsequential in comparison to the historical realities of what evil things men have done to one another and our planet in 'his' name.
Many of us have been so deeply indoctrinated to believe in a male omnipotent creator god who fashioned us after himself that we cannot even bare to think about the miracle of life in any other terms. The inevitable result in the belief in such a god is a tendency of many to submit to human authority figures who use god to justify their own ulterior motives. Throughout recorded history theocratic rulers have used psychological manipulation of the "chosen people" to justify war and the killing of "infidels" to profit from the ruins of war. Even to this day, human power and wealth broker types benefit monetarily from the psychology of association and transference by invoking god. I have given great study and considered the concept of god making man, who would not desire a hero to come and save them? If a person studies the historical reality that the Bible and Christian god concept borrowed many of its attributes from earlier pagan gods, they might conversely consider, for better or worse, that man made god, rather than the popular belief that god made man. With 86% of Americans and 99.3% of the US house and senate claiming affiliation to one or another Christian denomination arguing about god appears futile.
What is God's plan for Humanity?:
After reading the Bible several times, I can find no plan for mankind except to be fruitful and multiply; we've done that and been there. There are numerous plots throughout the Old Testament, the Talmud and the Quran for very human kings who accumulate wealth in the name of god and lead the "chosen" people to kill other people and take their land and wealth in the name of god. Oh, there is another plan; we have wars, apocalypse and Armageddon until we destroy the Earth and god comes and judges us on the day of the extinction of our species.
It may be hard for some to understand the logic of believing in many of the teachings of Jesus and not believing in god until one realizes that Jesus himself was depicted as a rebel. To this day leaders justify war and murder in the name of god yet I could never imagine anyone attempting to justify killing in the name of Jesus the prince of peace. Treating others as you wish to be treated, love your enemy are sayings that go unheeded by so many people who claim to be Christian. I am by no means anti-Christ.
Do non-Christians have a plan for Humanity?:
On the other side of my philosophy of life are the secularists, atheists and even some humanists who are adamantly apposed to all religion and even spirituality. Some merely hide behind a façade of neutrality when it comes to such matters in words while worshipping mammon in deeds. Other atheists expend much energy demanding that all religious thought and symbolism be removed from all public places without offering any alternative philosophy of life or plan for the future of our Homo sapiens species in our vast universe. Philosophy it self seems to share the same lack of direction or meaning as the atheists as well as those of religious persuasion; they have no plan of action for mankind and many seem to barely be able to integrate a plan for their own individual happiness into their lives other than to make more money to spend it on material things.
In searching to fulfill my individual spirituality and find a meaning for life, I did search other places beside western theology and atheism. Although I enjoy Buddhist pacifism and lessons of how to be content in the here and now, there is no long term plan for humanity within Buddhism that I can find. I have also read a book or two by the Dalai Lama and while I enjoy his writing I cannot find any ultimate goal or long term plan for mankind in his work as well.
A new religion is not presently acceptable:
It is obvious that my intension in writing this article is not to make friends and impress associates. On the other hand I'm not intentionally belittling anyone's beliefs and only desire to express my personal philosophy of life. Although I am doing my best to express a personal brand of spiritual evolution and scientific naturalism, as an individual of little significance in the cosmos I can hardly claim the next religion as my own. Now that I'm about done with my judgments and comparisons to the current state of spiritual affairs of my species, there is no doubt in my mind, this explanation of my thoughts on life and the ultimate goals of mankind will become the next religion of mankind. It will take a while to wean our corrupt leaders from their reliance on controlling the population by aligning themselves with deity, eventually we will have no need for a mythical god in our evolving civilization. The wonder and miracle of this planet and the universe will be the object of praise.
For all of the religiosity of a fabled connection to eternity, most chances are, as a species we will become extinct. The only chance of being part of something eternal is through a joint effort of every human on the planet to facilitate the health and well-being, longevity and very survival of our species and life on this planet or beyond. We are sacred we can break the time barrier.
Individuality:
Religions that stress a personal relationship with god may actually inhibit our relationships and love for one another. I do not think it is an accident that the powers that be have prevented any new spiritual, religious or even philosophical thought concerning the entirety of our human species and our planet. It is certain that even with their limitations of their ability to think, people in power certainly have thought about the advantages of breaking up our human family into nations to maintain their own individual wealth and power. It is not natural for people to idolize an relatively small number of individuals who amass large fortunes at the cost of the society as a whole. The use of god by kings and leaders certainly attributes to an unnatural disparity between rich and poor. I've heard some say that people are not capable of ruling themselves through participatory democracy and referendum. God is thrown into the mix to confuse the proletariat to the fact that the ruling class does not recognize them as people even to this day.
I, for one, will no longer sit back quietly and watch greedy self-centered individuals destroy my chances of being part of something eternal with their warring against one another including all their other uncivilized mammon-chasing hullabaloo. People who are making life more dangerous by threatening nuclear war are criminals in th
The Imeadiate Solutions:
Stop war now! Every human being on this planet worthy of one another's respect knows for certain that we can no longer afford to waste our natural resources waging war against one another. Bush and Cheney must be impeachrd before their term is up. If their foolishness does not cease and our mandate of peace is not put into practice before that date, we will amass peacefully in Washington DC, Moscow and Beijing, by the millions to shut down those governments until a truce is declared and peace negotiations begin. These countries are the largest weapons manufacturers and we do not need any more weapons!
Practice Conservation of Energy: use windfall profit laws, RICO laws and laws forbidding conspiracy, to take back billions of immoral profits from big oil and war profiteers to use that money to put known methods of energy conservation in place and develop known natural alternative energy sources such as bio-fuels, wind, solar and geothermal.
Develop Nuclear Fusion Energy: The sun and Hydrogen bombs both prove that nuclear fusion energy is real and available to us. We must immediately begin a Manhattan Project like effort to perfect the use of the energy of the universe on earth for the benefit of our human family.
Implement a world wide voluntary program of population control: We must educate every sexually active person on the planet to make them aware of the problems of over population we face as the human family of Earth. We will make all available options of birth control to them. Religious fanatics themselves may retain their right and privilege to practice sexual abstinence as their preferred solution to our all inclusive over population crisis.
Ultimate goal of mankind:
All time space and matter are part of a singularity and this is known as the unified field theory. Although Einstein nor anybody else has been able to solve this theory it is central to my religion. While my/our spiritual connection to the universe is in every moment of our lives, we must all have a larger goal, which is to be part of an eternal awareness. As a species, we have the possibility of achieving an existence beyond the realms of time space and matter. As much as I believe we need a spiritual shift bordering on revolution, prophets and sages of yesteryear considered the possibility of eternal existence. Their knowledge in such realms is explicitly documented in their writings of the alpha and omega. The first and the last signifies that if an entity existed beyond the physical realm, it would be everywhere at all times. I believe we can break the time barrier. Considering the exponential rate at which we are gaining understanding of the universe, such a feat is possible for mankind if we work toward this goal. The Talmud, Bible and Quran or any other religious, spiritual teachings I can find seem to reflect this goal or ultimate purpose. Moreover, beside simply leaving it up to god they in fact predict our suicide on an entire species scale! Since the miracle of life is within us, answer this: why would any intelligent creator god being, grant passage to heaven to beings who destroy each other in Armageddon and apocalypse? The only reason these stories have been handed down from generation to generation by an elite ruling class is to maintain power by instilling fear.
You are now freed from original sin, the fall of man and the final judgment day, which signifies the extinction of our Homo sapiens species. There is no reason any of this tragedy has to exist other than the manipulations of greedy sadistic individuals throughout the ages who have maintained power, riches and rule by fear and terror. Such aliens masquerading as human beings have rewritten the book of life into the book of extinction for their own selfish short-term gains. The right to defend ourselves does not include the right to war profiteering.
The 2012 scare:
We are entering a new age. 2012 does not signify the end of the world as we know it. It signifies the end of an age. This is where astronomy, astrology and religion become confused and intertwined. It has to do with a particular alignment with the planets. Some will say this alignment will bring catastrophe and want to profit off of your fear of the future. Many of the people who say these things drive cars whose motors are capable of revolving at 6000 revolutions in one minute; yet they will insist on a universe created by a male god only 6000 Earth revolutions around the sun ago.
Since a bunch of monks working for the King of England re-wrote the Bible for the umpteenth time in 1911, scientists have counted tree rings, used Newtonian and Einsteinian physics with celestial observations to determine the universe to be about 13.5 billion years old and our sun to be about 4.5 billion years old. Therefore in all reality this 2012 alignment seems little to worry about. Considering the nuclear arsenal in the hands of a defacto US president who fly's around the world making weapons sale deals with our enemies, there are much greater and real dangers to be concerned about than stars and planets spinning around.
It is fine for people to desire to hold onto past religious and spiritual traditions. They need not fear spiritual religious awakening. Spiritual growth will be built upon what all ready is. Remember, Jesus was a rebel wine bibber who had little or no money. Some religious people do not like the word evolution so maybe if I call it a transformation they will understand. If religion has brought anything good to mankind it would be a greater awareness of our existence. To think of eternity shows a certain level of understanding of it. To desire immortal eternal life is an emotional reaction to the awareness of the fact that each one of our individual life spans is temporary. If we will only come to the realization that the only possibility of an individual's connection to something eternal is through our species transforming into a form that is capable of living beyond or independent of the physical realm of the universe.
It has only been recently that we have come to realize that gravity bends light and time. Our astronomers have now been able to pier into the far distant universe to what they believe is a beginning to time space and matter that they call the big bang. We have made and exploded atomic bombs and then hydrogen bombs, which are based on a reaction said to be the power behind the heat of the sun and the universe itself. Look at the time period between when man first discovered fire and now when we know that fire is a chemical reaction between oxygen and carbon hydrogen based molecules. Scientists theorized black holes and have recently observed them in the universe. The theory or relativity predicts that matter will approach infinite mass as it approaches the speed of light. Just like Newton's theories Einstein's theories work up to a point but light disappears into black holes so something equal to or beyond the speed of light is possible.
We have genetic and stem cell research underway that could allow us to live in the human form indefinitely. We have the ability to teach people that it is the act of sex that makes women pregnant and brings children into this world, reproduction, while a gift of life is something that we humans do, I'd say god left this reprodution thing up to us so life is a miracle and sex and reproduction are sex and reproduction. Even if one believes strongly in god these choices are left up to men and women. Breaking the time barrier still might take a while and we cannot afford to use up all our rescources we may need for the next million years.
Religion without a god:
The next religion will have no anthropomorphic god. We will no longer need or allow elitist people to use this god to rule over us instigating fighting among us. We will be free to love our entire human family without a deity as a middleman between individuals and tribes of the world. To grow in understanding of our lives on this planet and within our universe is salvation in every moment. As our individual lives are temporary, unless we act in a way responsible to ourselves and our human family the existence of our species will also be temporary. I for one am not alive to watch the impending self destruction taking place before my very eyes. I'm just me, one in over 6 billion and I very much want myself, my family and my beloved friends to be in the book of life, immortal connection babe.
What other possible ultimate meaning for human life could there be other than the desire to become eternal? Waiting for god to come while we over populate the world and destroy it warring against one another certainly is not the answer to achieving eternity.
Forever is in awful long time. Eventually after a few billion years the sun will turn into a red giant and envelope the Earth. So if one thinks in those terms, living for ever in the physical universe of time space and matter is a tough order to fill. That is why I am convinced that we must seek a dimension that is beyond time space and matter. Black holes, the speed of light and nuclear fusion are persuasive evidence to lead one to believe that such a state does exist. Even if it does not, is not the health well-being and longevity of our species important to individuals who love life?
The heaven you seek must be within you (JC quote):
At this present moment of our spiritual growth we are only as a seed of collective consciousness. Our eternal hope lies in the health, well-being and longevity of our species as a whole. The speed of light, black holes and timeless echoes of space received from billions of years back bring the first and the last into the present. The unified field theory, proposed by Einstein, suggests the existence of a state of being beyond the limits of time space and matter akin to the mystical notion of heaven. Alpha and omega are real and when individuals work toward bringing our human family toward that point of light, the kingdom of heaven is within them every second.
We think of time as linear, from past, present to future. The past has been recorded in writing and now with photography and moving pictures which tends to distort our reality and diminish our attention on the future. Any hope or chance of an eternal connection does not lay in the past. Scientists can see nearly to the beginning of the universe yet they often fail even to attempt to see into the future. We are part of something so much bigger than could have been imagined just yesterday let alone 200 year ago.
I sometimes feel that there is a reflection of time shining back from the future. Although it is not exactly what I'm talking about here, they even made a movie called "Back to the Future". No matter how dim it is, I will always strive to do my best to be written in the book of life rather than contribute to the book of extinction out of my own short-term greed and lust. The light is a spiritual light, in such a way that it is not really photons that is just a way of defining the light of the mind.
To be continued…
