Up with Cake!
I especially love Carrot Cake, which is not only tasty but good for you. Get all your Vitamin A in a single slice of Carrot Cake! And if there is coconut shavings in the frosting its even healthier!
Cake can be healthy, here's a Vegan Cake recipe from Whole Foods:
* 1 1/2 teaspoons egg replacer (such as Ener-G Egg Replacer)
* 1 cup almond or organic soy milk
* 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
* 1/4 cup expeller pressed canola oil
* 2 teaspoons white or apple cider vinegar
* 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 cup unbleached organic white flour
* 1/2 cup organic whole wheat pastry flour
* 2 teaspoons baking powder
* 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
* 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
What is unhealthy here? Overeating is unhealthy, eating heavily processed foods is unhealthy. Maple Syrup is not unhealthy, it has trace minerals. True our processed food cultures with its overuse of simple carbohydrates like Wonder bread and Twinkies is unhealthy, but don't throw out the baby with the bathwater. Sweets in moderation are fine.
