Personal Information
- About Me
I am a former Educator, having served in both the public and private sector, and a former elected official, having served 18 years on the Board of Education in Randolph County, Alabama. A self-published author, having written a biography chronicling the life of my father, who was a very outspoken civil rights leader in our community when it was downright dangerous to be one. In his honor and memory, I now publish The People's Voice Weekly Newspaper, a black newspaper publication based in Roanoke, Alabama, which is still in its infancy (less than 3 years old). I am a civil rights activist, having served as president of the NAACP. I am a member of the Alabama Democratic Conference, which is one of two very strong black political caucases now operating in the State of Alabama.
Education: B.S., and M.Ed. in Education from Auburn University.
