Why is this God of yours so angry?
The true believers need to rename themselves and officially seperate from "Christianity". The "Christians" have no right to be angry at all. They're making tons of cash off of Jesus, and of course have one of their own in the White House. "Give to Caesar what is Caesars, and give to God what is Gods". Meaning to me, pay your taxes but give your soul not to your government but to your God. They don't seem to understand this. They don't want to convert your heart by the way. Radical "Christians" want the same thing the radical "Muslims" want. World domination. (Do I sound like a conspiracy theorist yet?? GOOD) Mostly though, they want your money. The same people that say "when you sin you crucify Jesus over and over" are the ones that do the most damage to him. I admit it, I watch too much TBN. I love the channel not because it's good for the soul but because it's interesting to me to see the rich minister to the poor. Not one of them admits that their chance of attaining a seat in Heaven is diminished because of their tax bracket, and no one in the crowd seems to notice. My God, people, you are very interesting. Mostly I place the blame of this brand of Christianity on ignorance of the Bible. How many Christians can say honestly that they've read every word of the Bible? This is something they're commanded to do. On a deeper level how many can say they understand the parables Jesus so eloquently preached? How many even try?
It's a crying shame that people are turned away from Jesus by the so-called Christians, but who's fault is this really? The individual makes the choice to learn about the man. To say "I'm not going to follow the things Jesus taught because so many have disgraced his name." isn't right. It's a copout. His words still exist. They aren't compromised by the present breed of Christians. God willing they never will be.
My point?? Christians have no place in politics or in wealth of money. Not because of the Constitution, but because of the Bible. None what so ever. When a man stole from Simon Peter, Jesus said to leave it be, God will take care of you. All that's needed is faith. If a man would steal from Jerry Falwell do you think he'd leave it be?

I consider myself a defacto Christian. Though I was not raised to go to church, I don't presume much about the nature of God, and I like death metal, I do share most of the values that Christians are supposed to uphold. The problem is a lot of Christians don't.
Later on I'll go on a frenzy about how liberals need to work on being less irritating while representing their views, but first I have to bother the Christians. A right-wing blogger I saw the other day was patting the back of some church that was encouraging Christians to find sanctity in Metallica- because of the anger. And I say two things. 1) Metallica has sucked since the '90s. 2) Why should Christians find sanctity in anger?
Personally I think if Christians want to hear anger in an inspiring way, they should turn to Destruction or Slayer. Then they can hear people who are angry about the hypocrisy that many of us view in Christianity. Think about it. Souls forever turned off from Christ because you guys can't get a message across without sounding like total bastards.
Just as many conservative Christians see a liberal as a stereotypical God-hating, elitist, unpatriotic coward, many of us see Christians as that stereotype formed by wonderful people such as those who support godhatesfags.com and tell us that 9/11 was a blessed day for believers. We see the people who constantly tell us that we're going to Hell and believe that the mere tolerance of the existance of other beliefs is an infringement on their rights. I hope that this is really an overblown minority just like your conception of a liberal. Why has Christianity been rallied around hate instead of love, anger instead of joy of life.
I hope I can get you to face it. The biggest turn off of Christianity is Christians. Most atheists, Jews, and even satanists would agree with a lot of the nicer views of Jesus. But you guys always emphasize the differences. You want to feel persecuted and you persecute others to reach this end. Shouldn't the holy spirit be within your heart and not from the hateful words of some psychotic preacher with a stick in his ass?
Oh well. It's your soul, not mine. Personally, from my interpretation of the bible, even a neurotic agnostic like me has a better shot at Heaven than someone who embraces hate in God's name.
